The Beginning of Cunhan

The beginning of Cunhan was a very simple but unique one...

Once upon a time, four girls wanted to play handball. None of them had a ball, so they instead decided to ask some younger girls if they could join in, in their handball game. However, this proved a little difficult. Being quiet and sometimes shy girls, none of them wanted to go and ask. Instead, they selected one of their number (soon to be Siyabungu Hrebama (σιψαβυνγυ ηρεβαμα)) to go and ask, but with a twist.

Instead of simply asking to join in, the three remaining girls would pretend Siyabungu was a foreign girl from another country. Siyabungu would then be able to ask to play, as she "wouldn't know the girls" and was in fact from a different country.

However, someone from a different country needs a different language, so the four girls started to create a new language. Eventually, Siyabungu thought this world should be based off of the real country, Tristan da Cunha, and so the language was called Cunhan.

The girls never did ask to play handball, but the world of TdC developed from there. Not just a mere language anymore, there are now traditional recipes, sports, costumes, celebrations and much more.
